Nedlands Physiotherapy would like to congratulate one of our loyal clients on completing the Kokoda Trek in Papua New Guinea this past April. We are so very proud of you Sheryl. You are an inspiration to many of us and remind us that anything is possible at any age.
To help raise funds for Redkite, which is a charity very dear to Sheryl, she embarked on an 9-day trek along the Kokoda Trail – a 96 km track in the Owen Stanley Range in Papua New Guinea. At the ripe age of 71 Sheryl was the oldest in her group and the only female. The trek started on Anzac day with a dawn service at the Bomana Cemetery. Sheryl was overcome with emotion thinking of her Dad who enlisted with the RAAF at 17 and was sent to PNG. Walking 6-8 hours a day through muddy, rugged and isolated terrain Sheryl completed the entire journey with admirable energy and strength knowing that her father was right there on her shoulder encouraging her every step.
Well done Sheryl!
